Privacy policy
Plain-language privacy notes for the public preview. Last updated July 22, 2026.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run the product: account details, profile fields you choose to publish, work samples you submit, job or event submissions, support requests, and optional salary reports.
Salary reports, profile location, and talent visibility are optional. Public profile and map surfaces only show data you have chosen to make visible or public factual records tied to organizations, jobs, events, and programs.
Location privacy
Precise personal location is not shown on public people surfaces. Practitioner location is fuzzed to a coarse grid before public display, and public talent density uses k-anonymous aggregation.
Public venue, organization, job, event, and program locations may be stored precisely because they describe public places or organizational records, not private home locations.
Salary privacy
Salary reports are used to produce aggregate compensation views. Fine-grained cells below the privacy threshold are suppressed rather than filled with a number.
The Salary Atlas separates official baseline data, employer-posted salary ranges, and community reports so provenance is visible to readers.
Security and support
Do not send passwords, API keys, client secrets, private datasets, or confidential client material through support forms.
Operational notices and support triage are designed to avoid exposing raw secrets or precise personal coordinates to public code paths.
Third-party processors
We use a small set of vendors to operate the service. Each processes only the data it needs for its function, acts on our instructions, and does not receive your data for its own advertising. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- Microsoft Azure: cloud hosting and database; stores account and content data.
- Azure OpenAI: extracts structured fields from a résumé you choose to import, and receives the résumé text you submit.
- Stripe: payment processing for paid plans; receives billing and subscription details.
- Resend: transactional and notification email; receives your email address and message contents.
- Cloudflare R2: storage and delivery of maps, tiles, and uploaded files.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: bot and abuse protection on forms; receives your IP address and a challenge token.
- Sign-in providers you choose (GitHub, GitLab, Google, or Microsoft), when you authenticate through them.
Retention, export, and deletion
We keep account, profile, contribution, and support records only as long as needed to provide the service, handle safety issues, and maintain durable public links where users have published work.
You can export or delete your data yourself, at any time, from Settings → Privacy while signed in. Export downloads a JSON copy of your personal records. Deletion removes your account and personal data (profile, work samples, salary reports, eligibility, endorsements, contact requests, notifications, and support messages) and cancels any active paid subscription.
Maps you uploaded are removed from your account and taken out of public view when you delete your account.
Public records you authored, such as jobs, opportunities, and events you posted, and salary-verification review history, survive deletion but are de-identified: your authorship link is removed so durable public links do not break.
You can also reach us through the support contact path linked in the footer for account access, data correction, or help with any request.
